CORY J ROBERTS
Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer
Cory’s journey in technology began early, joining a web programming course at the age of nine. Cory got his first taste of the news when he was thirteen delivering papers via rollerblade and saved up enough money to build his first computer. In high school, Cory founded several video game websites with hundreds of thousands of visits per year and ran a small computer repair business via classifieds listing site Craigslist, combining his technical skills with entrepreneurial initiative.
After college, Cory returned to Craigslist and found a promising ad – a local casino industry publication needing office computer help. He quickly discovered that his creative thinking and can-do attitude were welcomed and encouraged by CDC Gaming founder Jeffrey Compton and soon after began working with CDC’s email reports, the website, and news on a daily basis.
Cory has helped bring numerous CDC projects to life, including programming and designing the total update of the CDC Gaming website, the rebranding of the company from CDC Gaming Reports and designing its trade show presence, launching the most regular video coverage of the industry via CDC Gaming Connect, launching numerous widely-read industry newsletters such as the afternoon Last Call and special From the Floor issues, and organizing and expanding CDC’s specialty reports into the Focus series — including Igaming Focus, Focus on Asia and Focus on Partners.
In 2016, Cory was named to the 2017 class of the gaming industry’s “40 under 40” by Global Gaming Business Magazine and in 2020, he was named Publisher of CDC Gaming.
In 2018, Cory began CDC Gaming’s collaboration with Inside Asian Gaming by forming a strategic partnership, growing the relationship over the years, helping lead to the formation of COMPLETE MEDIA GROUP.
As Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer of COMPLETE MEDIA GROUP, Cory continues to cultivate new ideas for the company, collaborating with team members on both sides of the Pacific, using his unique understanding of how people use technology shaped by his professional training as a teacher and organic immersion in technology throughout life.
